Private School Program

There are private and public schools in the United States. The advantage of private schools is their individual approach to the students. Teachers determine the needs and skills of each individual student in a small class-size environment (4 to 8 students per teacher). A combination of individual and group activities requires high professionalism from the faculty. Most of the faculty has Masters and PhD degrees. Separate boys and girls private schools are very popular. However, a division between girls and boys does not harm a child's social life, because students are involved in various school activities with other schools - debates, excursions, dance parties, museum and theater field trips.

A traditional academic program designed for intensive college preparation is combined with a variety of elective courses: classes in the modern computer and science labs, business classes, journalism, foreign languages, art, music, dance, and a wide variety of physical education classes including tennis, soccer, golf, horseback riding and baseball. Foreign students may take an intensive course in English as a second language. This specially designed curriculum allows students to quickly adjust to the new environment.

In the majority of schools, students live in school dormitories in comfortable rooms for two. Some teachers' families live together with the students and monitor their activities. Children live in a real family environment. They participate in disputes, fieldtrips, and parties. Faculty also helps them with homework assignments. Students spend school breaks, holidays, and sometimes weekends with their classmates' or teachers' families.

Private school graduates possess not only knowledge, but also a strong desire to continue their studies and they typically have a full understanding of what they want to accomplish in their lives.

There are hundreds of private elementary, middle and high schools in the United States. Educational World, Inc. can help you to find a school based on your child's skills and abilities, age, interests and objectives.

Students are placed in private schools known for their excellent academic programs, including schools in Ohio, Indiana, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Texas and Oregon.

The program coordinator carefully selects, interviews and gives special instructions to the host family prior to student's arrival. Upon arrival students participate in a special training program that lasts three days.

The cost of the one-year academic program is approximately $9,000 – 10,000, including room and board with an American family and medical insurance.
